How We Started as a Nonprofit

The inception and growth of Northlake Shooting Sports (NSS) is a tale that resonates with community spirit, passion for sports, and the drive to make a substantial impact. Founded as a non-profit with the primary goal of supporting local high school teams, NSS has evolved into a significant pillar in the world of clay shooting sports, nurturing hundreds of young athletes along the way.

The Beginnings: Addressing a Community Need

Northlake Shooting Sports began with a simple yet powerful vision: to provide local high school clay shooting teams with accessible, high-quality training facilities. The founders of NSS recognized a pressing issue in the community - many young athletes interested in clay shooting had to travel long distances for practice, often finding it challenging to balance their school responsibilities with their sporting passion.

Filling the Gap

Stepping in to fill this gap, NSS offered a local solution that was both practical and inspiring. By establishing a facility that catered specifically to these young athletes, NSS not only provided them with the opportunity to practice closer to home but also fostered an environment where they could thrive under expert guidance.

Growth and Recognition

The impact of NSS was immediate and profound. From its modest inception, the organization quickly grew, becoming the home for more than 10 high school clay shooting teams. This expansion is a testament to the quality of training and facilities provided by NSS. The weekly presence of 500-600 youth athletes at the facility highlights its significance as a sporting hub.

The success of NSS did not go unnoticed. It even garnered the attention of members of the USA Olympic Shooting Team, a remarkable achievement that underscores the quality and standard of the facilities and training at NSS.

Expanding Horizons

After many years of dedicated service to young athletes and the local community, NSS is poised to embark on a new journey. Starting January 1, 2023, NSS is expanding its operations to be open to the public. This significant step is not just an expansion in services but also a testament to the inclusive vision of NSS. By opening its doors to the wider community, NSS is inviting more people to experience the joy and thrill of clay shooting sports.

A Testament to Community and Sportsmanship

The story of Northlake Shooting Sports is more than just the growth of a sports facility. It's a narrative about community, passion, and the transformative power of sports. NSS started with a vision to support young athletes and has stayed true to that mission, impacting hundreds of young lives and fostering a sense of community and sportsmanship.

Looking Ahead

As NSS opens to the public, it stands ready to welcome a new wave of enthusiasts, from beginners to seasoned shooters. This new chapter is not just an expansion in services but also a reiteration of NSS's commitment to promoting clay shooting sports and supporting athletes of all ages.

Community Focused and Still a Nonprofit at Heart

The journey of Northlake Shooting Sports is a heartwarming reminder of how a focused vision, driven by community needs, can create lasting impacts. What started as a nonprofit initiative to support local youth has blossomed into a significant contributor to the sport of clay shooting. As NSS embarks on its new phase, it stands as a beacon of community spirit and sporting excellence, inviting everyone to be a part of this exciting world.
